Hi there, I’m Jackie and welcome to this happy place. Come join our tribe of the Disney experienced, and those that are not-so-experienced; here, everyone is welcome!
Wherever you are in life, please stop by for a little dose of Walt’s creativity, magic and joy. I’ll be sharing all kinds of things, each with a Disney twist. Vacation tips, recipes, crafts, home decor, inspiration and motivation, apparel, party ideas, memories, playlists, and the kitchen sink. *dang… now I want Beaches and Cream.* Oh, and you’ll get a lot of sarcasm and cheesy jokes. Heads up!
In the words of Mr. Walt Disney himself “We allow no geniuses around our studio.” Same rule applies here. Each of us have had our own experiences and offer a unique perspective. I’ll be more than happy to answer questions but I welcome each of you to share your knowledge as well. And it doesn’t matter if you’ve experienced Disney once or 10,000 times.
I’d also like to share a little bit about myself and my tribe. I’m navigating my 30’s, which have been full of sensational change and hustle. I feel like that’s the word for my thirties… hustle. I should change my morning alarm from peaceful birds chirping to that Rocky song… Gonna Fly Now. { Confession, I had to look that up. Does anyone really know the name of that song? } Anyways, I’m married to my gorgeously handsome high school sweetheart and we have one fur baby and one little human. We love new experiences, big and small. We only get this one life to make the most of and we try to live by that.
I’m proud to have held many jobs - there’s WAY too much to experience in life to have just one! I was a Cast Member in the Entertainment Dept. at Walt Disney World during my College Program, I worked at an advertising agency, I owned an event stationery business, I was a sales director with Mary Kay Cosmetics, I’ve coached multiple sports (swimming, volleyball and most recently a high school dance team). [ pause for funny story… ]
Thinking about my past jobs made me remember the most embarrassing one I had. Are you ready for this? Oh my goodness… It was a short-term seasonal one to make some money over my Christmas break in high school. My job was an outdoor sign holder with Verizon Wireless. I walked back and forth in front of the store carrying my sign like I was protesting something. I remember wearing my heater socks, which I’m positive now were a huge fire/burn hazard. They had a 9V battery pouch at the top and coils ran down the back and bottom to warm your toes. Ha! The store was right outside a shopping center and I remember guys in my class driving by, seeing me dressed in layers of warm clothing from my parents coat closet, parading up and down the sidewalk. I know what you’re thinking, “at least you weren’t in a costume, Jackie.” I disagree… at least if I were in costume no one would have seen my face. What a teenager will do for $10/hour. Oh. My. Goodness.
[ fast-forward to the present ] I am currently a travel agent specializing in Disney Destinations. I {BIG HEART} my job and my most favorite part of it is successfully sharing that feeling of joy, wonder and kindness with others. Helping to create a moment of happiness and belief is what it’s all about. And that is why I decided to start this blog. I hope to bring smiles and joy to more people through laughter, creativity, and community.
